Job Title: ANALOG IC LAYOUT ENGINEER
Location: UK
Salary: Very competitive

The successful candidate will have substantial experience of analogue layout and familiarity with layout of digital and RF blocks and will be familiar with practices for high efficiency in both high power and low power designs.

They ideal candidate will be proficient in the use of the Cadence tool flow and be able to independently identify, debug and solve physical verification discrepancies (DRC/LVS). Ideally they will be familiar with the Jazz high power CMOS process and layout of (triple well) LDMOS cells. They will be a good team player but also capable of working autonomously.

EXPERIENCE:

• Perform analog/mixed-signal IC layout design of complex novel circuits.
• Work at the direction of the IC design engineer from verbal and/or written instructions and implement the layout within the given constraints such as matched devices
• Independently plan and implement layout for analog/mixed-signal design blocks, while adhering to specifications and guidelines set by design engineers.
• Manipulate layout CAD flows.
• Experience of cell layout through to top level assembly.
• Independently identify, debug and solve physical verification discrepancies (DRC/LVS).
• Assist design engineering team with tapeout activities and deal with post-tapeout activities such as documentation, archiving and job tracking.
• Work closely with the design engineering team on a day-to-day basis in solving physical design issues.
• Basic use of schematic capture tool to allow basic schematic editing.
• Experience of specifying abstract models for digital P+R and incorporating +verifying digital layout in analogue designs.
• Experience of multi-supply/multi ground layout
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong problem solving skills.
• Motivated, proactive attitude coupled with ability to work individually or as part of a team.
• Knowledge of transistor level layout issues.
• Familiarity with Linux systems.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Good positive, helpful attitude - easy to get on with
